seekyoo for Windows privacy policy

Effective for the first Windows release, 9 September 2026. Publisher: Taobo Hu. This policy covers the seekyoo Windows place journal. The separate Seekyoo expert platform and Apple apps have their own policies.

The app does not require an account and does not send journal entries to us. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash-report upload, automatic update network client, cloud sync, or location sharing. All counts and filters are calculated locally. Cities and places are entered manually. Camera, microphone, photos, contacts and device-location permissions are not requested.

Journal entries include the city, optional place and note, visit date, feeling, favorite status, local record identifier and creation/update timestamps. They are stored in unencrypted JSON under the app's Windows user profile. Windows account/file permissions protect access; this is not an encrypted vault. A previous successful snapshot is retained for recovery and can contain a deleted memory until the next successful change. Explicit recovery of a corrupt file preserves the unreadable original locally for troubleshooting.

The user can export and import readable JSON backups. Exports contain the full journal and remain at the user-selected path. Choosing a synchronized folder may cause the user's synchronization provider to upload that export; the app itself does not upload it. Deleting an entry updates the active journal. Removing the Store app removes its internal package data; exported copies remain. Store-managed updates preserve internal data unless the user resets/removes the app. Back up before uninstalling or resetting Windows.

The support website opens in the user's browser only when selected. Website hosts process ordinary connection information under their own policies. Journal contents are not attached or sent. Emailing support voluntarily shares the information the user includes. Microsoft Store installation, licensing, updates and Windows diagnostics are governed by Microsoft's policies, independently of the app.
